Certified Reconditioned Blenders

Refurbished Vitamix blenders have made owning a Vitamix much more affordable. The Certified Reconditioned Blenders sold directly from Vitamix are returns or lightly used demonstration models that can not be resold as new, and this means substantial savings over the cost of a brand new Vitamix blender.

Every factory refurbished Vitamix blender goes through a series of quality inspections and must pass a 17-point checklist during the certified reconditioning process at the factory in Cleveland, Ohio. Worn or broken parts, containers, lids, tampers, and cookbook packages are replaced with new parts, so the blender that you’ll receive is practically brand new.

The Packages

Vitamix currently offers five different versions of Certified Reconditioned packages, each containing a different class of blender and every reconditioned package come with a 5 year Vitamix warranty.

Certified Reconditioned Two Speed

The entry level refurbished Vitamix package is the Certified Reconditioned Two Speed.

Certified Reconditioned Two SpeedThe Certified Reconditioned Two Speed packages contains either a TurboBlend Two Speed or CIA Creations model with the standard 64 oz Eastman Tritan BPA-free container, the Recipes for the TurboBlend Two Speed recipe book, and a tamper.

The blender base comes in one of four colors (black, cobalt, espresso, or red) and is outfitted with the same 2-peak horsepower motor as all of the other models in the classic line. One notable difference here is that this model does not come with the familiar variable speed dial, so you are limited to just two speeds, low and high.

Certified Reconditioned Standard

One step up from the entry level, and the most recognizable of the Vitamix models is the Certified Reconditioned Standard.

This package will include one of the following Vitamix blender models: Vitamix 5200, CIA Professional Series, Creations II, Creations GC, Professional Series 200, Total Nutrition Center, or TurboBlend VS; along with the standard 64 oz Eastman Tritan BPA-free container, a Getting Started Plus cookbook, and a tamper.

The motor base of the Certified Reconditioned Standard package is available in seven different colors (red, white, black, blue, platinum, brushed stainless, and espresso) and contain the same 2-peak horsepower motor.

Certified Reconditioned Standard Programs

The next step up in the refurbished Vitamix line is the Certified Reconditioned Standard Programs.

With this package, you’ll receive one of the Vitamix models that features the preprogrammed settings, such as the Professional Series 500 or the Vitamix 6300, a 64 oz BPA-free Eastman Tritan container, the Savor cookbook, and a tamper.

The motor base is available in one of five colors (red, white, black, platinum, or brushed stainless), comes with the same 2-peak horsepower motor, but features the updated controls with three preprogrammed settings (smoothies, frozen desserts, hot soups), variable speed dial, and pulse toggle.

Certified Reconditioned Next Generation

A new addition to the refurbished Vitamix line is the Certified Reconditioned Next Generation, which features the newest class of Vitamix blenders.

This package contains one of the more powerful and quieter Vitamix models, like a 7500, Professional Series 300, or a Creations Elite, the redesigned, shorter 64 oz Eastman Tritan BPA-free container, the Simply Fresh cookbook, and a tamper.

The newly designed motor base is available in one of five colors (black, white, red, espresso, or blue), contains the quieter and more powerful 2.2-peak horsepower motor and comes with the standard, variable speed with pulse toggle controls.

Certified Reconditioned Next Generation Programs

Another new addition and the top of the reconditioned lineup is the Certified Reconditioned Next Generation Programs.

This package features the refurbished next generation Professional Series 750 model with the newly redesigned, shorter and wider, 64 oz BPA-free Eastman Tritan containers, the Create cookbook, a Getting Started guide, a tutorial DVD hosted by Chef Michael Voltaggio, and a tamper.

Like the Professional Series 750, the Certified Reconditioned Next Generation Programs are available in three colors (brushed stainless, black, or red) and come with the quieter, more powerful 2.2-peak horsepower motor inside the newer designed base.

Our Conclusion

The money you’ll save ($80-$270) by purchasing one of the refurbished Vitamix packages makes it hard to justify spending the extra money on something that is fresh off of the assembly line. The shorter, 5 year warranty can even be upgraded to a full 8 years for an extra $75!

Over the years, I have personally owned two refurbished Vitamixes and can attest to their quality. Vitamix takes great pride in their reputation for quality, so you can be sure that every blender, new or refurbished, meets strict standards for performance and durability.

    Hello,
I live in Germany and I would like to find a Vitamix with 220-240 Volt from the USA.
I know that you use 110-120 Volt models, but I heard that it is sometimes possible to find one with more Volts. For example the vm0104 model. A refurbished or a used one that could be shipped to Germany would be great. Here they are more expensive.
    Kind Regards
    Jannis

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

I’m not aware of any models that have the different voltage (220-240v vs 110-120v), but my guess would be that they are UK models, since they already use the 230v models. Perhaps you would have better luck checking with them for that specific set up.

    • Addie says:

I live in Austria and called to find out this very question. Unfortunately, there is no such program to purchase a reconditioned model which will work abroad :(

  2. Pete S. says:

I just wanted to say that I received my refurbished Vitamix on Monday and am so happy with my purchase. It looks and feels brand new and I saved a lot of money. Thanks for sharing this information!

  3. Andre says:

Hi Adam, I really enjoyed your review of the certified reconditioned VitaMix models. I bought the VitaMix CIA 1706 professional series from Bed Bath & Beyond a few months ago and I absolutely love it. I use it at least twice a day.

But now I’m interested in the next generation models 7500 and 750. I really want the 750 for the preset settings and shorter jar but don’t want to pay $700 for it. I do plan to take my VitaMix back to Bed Bath and Beyond to get my money back so all I would have to do is pay the difference. However I am now thinking about a reconditioned one instead of the new one and save about $175. Do you think it’s worth returning mine to get a reconditioned model?

    Thanks again

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

I think if you want the preprogrammed settings, go for it! They certainly make life easier.

With the next generation models, you’ll also get the newer style and technology, so it seems like a great idea! :)

wanted to thank Adam for helping me out today, trying to decide between a refurb 5200 or 7500, wanted to actually know if the sound was that much different and he helped me bc he owned both! cant wait to get my Next Gen Vitamix!!

  5. Patrick says:

Hi. Canceled waitlist order for new 7500 from QVC and instead ordered refurbished 7500 (or equivalent) from vitamix. Get it quicker. Saved money. Essentially the same product new or refurbished. Thanks for your review of this subject here!

  6. Adrienne says:

    Hi,
I noticed that there’s no pulse noggle on the Certified Reconditioned Standard. Is it still possible to pulse in that model? I’d like to be able dual use it as a food processor.

    Thanks!

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Yes, it is possible to pulse with the standard model. Simply set the variable speed to 3-4, then flip the power switch on and off repeatedly to pulse.

  7. Jim says:

Bought a reconditioned standard last month and could not be happier! Great blender at a great price.

  8. Linda Soresi says:

How do I get a $25 coupon on the refurbished 750?

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Linda, all you need to do is enter our Vitamix promotion code into the box at the checkout. The code is 06-008079.

  9. Mary says:

I just wanted to say thank you so much for telling me about the refurbished Vitamix! I got mine last month and have used it so many times already and it works like brand new!

It saved me a lot of money and it is totally worth the price.

  10. Michelle Henry says:

Can you please tell me if shipping of reconditioned Vitamix blenders is available to FPO/APO addresses? Thank you.

  11. Soenke says:

    Hello,
I wanted to order a Vitamix here in Germany when I learned there are already newer models out there.
Do you plan to sell them here as well and when? And if so, will that recondition option be offered too?

  12. Mike says:

I just signed up for the subscription for the refurbished vitamix. I received the email today and checked, but it was only for the pro 300. I’m interested in the pro 750. Will I still get an email for the pro 750 if it becomes available and in stock? How often does the 750 become available as refurbished?

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

The email alert is currently only set up for the refurbished 7500 and Pro 300 models, but the refurbished Pro 750 models have only recently gone out of stock.

The availability of refurbished Vitamix models is hard to predict since it depends on the number of machines that are returned to the factory and go through the reconditioning process, but when the inventory is updated on the site, it is typically updated for all models.

      • Mike says:

Cool. I guess I’ll just have to check twice a day until the 750 comes up:) Thanks.

        • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

          Mike,

I created a new list specifically for the Next Generation Programs, and added your email address, so that you and others don’t have to check the site every day. You’ll receive an email as soon as they are back in stock so that you can be one of the first to know!

          • Luis says:

            Hi Adam,

Could you please add me to the waiting list for the “Vitamix certified reconditioned next generation programs”. I’ve been checking the Vitamix website every day with no luck.

            Thank you!

          • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

            Luis,

I added your email address to the list, so you’ll be notified as soon as they’re available.

  13. Kileigh says:

How often do the refurbished next gen models go on sale? I haven’t seen any in over 3 weeks. I am on your mailing list.

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Kileigh, the refurbished next generation models are typically released for sale about 1-2 times per week, but you are correct that it has been over 3 weeks since the last sale.

Vitamix appears to be having some inventory issues lately as quite a few of their new products are now also out of stock. We are still monitoring the site and can assure you that if you are signed up for the list, you will be the first to know when they are made available.

  14. Gingrich says:

How/where do I sign up to be emailed when reconditioned models are available in Canada? We like Vitamix in this neck of the woods too!

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

That is an excellent point, Gingrich!

I updated the page and added a place where you can sign up for updates to find out when Vitamix reconditioned models are available in Canada. You can also sign up by going directly to http://eepurl.com/Ct9Fb

  15. Julie Hansen says:

I ordered my refurbished Vitamix 10 days ago . . . . I have not heard anything and they have not charged my credit card as of today. Does it usually take this long? I thought they would have charged my credit card right away . . or will do they charge it when shipped. Just so darn antsy!! I have the email from Vitamix with order number, receipt etc.

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Julie, they will only charge the card when the item ships, although I do not think it should take 10 days.

It would probably be a good idea to call customer service (1-800-848-2649) and check with them.

  16. Debbie says:

I just received a refurbished vitamix and it is over 2 years old. I would think a return would be in a 30 day period. It is a creations model. Also the container has some minor scuffs and scratches and the blade looks like it was bent and straightened. It was not packaged the best way. What should I do?

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Debbie, I would recommend you call Vitamix customer service at 1-800-848-2649 and let them know that you are unhappy. While it is possible that a refurbished Vitamix might have minor cosmetic blemishes, but the container shells should be replaced with new ones before they are sold again.

  17. Sara says:

I was just about to order the refurbished after being contacted that they were in stock, when they did injury again. How frequently do they come back in stock?

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Sara, the refurbished models will come back in stock throughout the week, depending on how many are returned to the factory and refurbished. The next generation models are very popular, so the stock is extremely limited. When the email alerts are sent out, they are usually sold out within one hour.

      • Sara says:

Thank you, Adam! But they should be back in stock this week? I literally just ordered a new one at Whole Foods on Saturday and was going to cancel my order when I got the email notification (but unfortunately boarding a plane). When I landed, they were out! I don’t want to wait forever for a vitamix, though.

        • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

I can’t say with 100% certainty, but there is a good chance that they will be back in stock at least once more throughout this week. As soon as we get notice, we will send out the stock notification to let you know.

  18. Martin says:

What are the three buttons on the Certified Reconditioned Standard variable speed dial, pulse toggle and on/off?

    Thanks

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Hi Martin, the three controls on the standard model are on/off, the variable speed dial, and the high/low setting.

  19. Debbie says:

Do you know if the pitchers are always brand new?

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Hi Debbie, yes, the container shell is always replaced on the refurbished Vitamix packages. The blades are removed, cleaned and sanitized, then installed into the new shell.

      • Debbie says:

        Thank you!
Do they just randomly send you a model at your price point?

        • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Yes, it is random, but all of the blender machine bases in each one of the different packages (standard, programs, or next generation) will have identical features and specifications. The only differentiator is the label on the front of the blender base.

For instance, it is possible that the label may read Vitamix 5200, CIA Professional Series, Creations II, Creations GC, Professional Series 200, Total Nutrition Center, or TurboBlend VS if you purchased the standard package.

          Hope that helps!

  20. Michaela says:

I ordered a refurbished 5200 for an excellent discount and free shipping. However, they were out of the 5200 so after two weeks of waiting, Vitamix sent a new 7500 in the color I requested! I’m not sure about the warranty (5- or 7-yr) because I forgot to ask. Good customer relations at Vitamix!

  21. Mary says:

Is the reconditioned next generation option available to Canadians? Thanks for your information. :)

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Hi Mary, the reconditioned next generation package is currently not offered for sale in Canada. Other reconditioned options were previously offered, but there are none currently available.

Reconditioned models are in high demand, so it is extremely possible that the supply in Canada has sold out. Keep an eye out, because when they do come back in stock, they are sure to sell quickly.

  22. Scott says:

I had a question, on the next Gen, is it still easy to make the smoothies, frozen desserts, hot soups without the presets as the Certified Reconditioned Standard Programs has? I was about to order the Next gen but this question popped in my head.

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Scott, it is possible to make everything without the presets but you will need to manually adjust the motor speed and timings. The presets on the Certified Reconditioned Standard Programs will take care of all of this for you and will shut off the blender at the end of the selected cycle.

  23. Jodi says:

So glad I found your site before buying a new 7500. I went with the refurbished next gen model and couldn’t be happier!

Saved a ton of money and absolutely love my “new” Vitamix!

    • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

Jodi, the factory reconditioned models are a great value. We’re so happy that you found us and we helped save you some money.

  24. Adam says:

I bought my reconditioned Vitamix a few years back and I still love it. I use it almost every day. Buying a reconditioned one saved me about $150 and I swear it was as good as brand new when it showed up!

  25. Kathy says:

I got my reconditioned Vitamix about a month ago and I’ve been using it almost every day. I make a smoothie every morning and sometimes a soup or salsa at night.

There’s so many good recipes in the cookbook I still can’t wait to try out!

  26. Jenn says:

I love my Vitamix! I’m so glad I got one finally!

Vitamix does such a good job with refurbishing their blenders, I couldn’t tell if the one I got was even used, it even smelled brand new!

I’ve always wanted a Vitamix, so when I saw that the reconditioned models were about $100 less than a new one, I couldn’t pass it up! Oh, and the $25 coupon helps too! Thanks!

    • newbie says:

i am so late to this thread… but – $25 coupon? i’d love to hear if there’s more of these before buying mine this weekend!

      • Adam @ BlenderReviews.us says:

The coupon is good for free shipping if you purchase direct from Vitamix. It’s good for $25 US or $35 CA and is the only discount that Vitamix offers on their blenders.

To use it, just input the promotion code, 06-008079, when placing your order online, or give it to the customer service representative if you order by phone.
